Current Position and Past Experience
David Edwin Stone has provided leadership in the use of technology in instruction at Southern Polytechnic State University since 2001. Currently, Stone is the Director of Educational Support and Online Learning at SPSU. As a researcher, David has conducted cross-cultural, international research in the use of Second Life in Foreign Language Instruction in China and is interested in the use of technology to improve access to education at a broad scale.

Education, Honors and Achievements
Stone is completing a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology at Georgia State University where he previously completed a Masters in Instructional Technology. His undergraduate degree is a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from Southern Polytechnic State University.

Personal Details and Community Involvement
Stone has been active in STEM outreach programs for middle and secondary students, including the Georgia BEST Robotics competition, Future City, and Science Olympiad. He has taught workshops for Secondary School teachers, and was a member of the 2004-2006 Cobb County Education Consortium Leadership Academy. Stone is also an Associate Member of the Georgia Digital Innovation Group, a vice president of the Graduates in Instructional Technology Students(GRITS) organization at Georgia State University, and is a member of the Association for Educational and Communication Technology (AECT).
